About Rich Shay

My name is Richard Shay. I am a 26 year old living in Norwood, Massachusetts. I have an undergraduate degree in Classics and Computer Science from Brown University. In 2007 I received my Masters Degree in Computer Science from Purdue University. I plan to apply to PhD programs in Computer Science in the fall.

About My Blog

This website is a repository for my thoughts, reflections, and observations. The blog began in 2005 when I moved to Indiana from Massachusetts, so that my friends and family could stay informed about the events in my life. Over time, however, the blog became less about me and more about topics such as philosophy and religion.

The original blog was written entirely in VI, written over SSH. This new, updated blog is still written by me by hand, this time using Rails. There are no blogging tools inolved -- just Rails.
